Market Cycles Graph

Do you think there will be a day when Austrian economics is taught in schools instead of Keynesian economics?
It is a much better school.
The Austrians can actually explain the business cycle and not attribute it to vague words such as greed.
The Austrian refute the Keynesians yet the Keynesians can’t refute them.
Austrian economics can actually explain how money arises on the market.
Keynes assumes money is a given at any time, just waiting to be spent by the government.
Austrians realize economics is not about graphs and CPI’s and numbers. It is about human behavior and history.
Keynesians think they can predict every aspect of the universe with maths and equations.
lol, the dollar is going to collapse
an economy artificially pumped up
I do not see any reason why the Austrian school of economics should not be taught, alongside with Keynesian, Neo-Classical, Monetarist, or any other school of economics. On the contrary, we should have and do have a scientific, open and rational debate about economic theory. This is the only way to advance any science, including economics. But whether or not it is a serious alternative to the mainstream economics such as the Monetarists or the Keynesians should itself be open to debate. The current weakness of the Austrians is their rejection of the mathematical framework used by most other economists. They have so far not provided a sufficiently strong argument why they cannot argue their results within the common ‘language’ of a formalistic and mathematical framework.
Their strength, however, is their argument that human behavior is too complex to be modeled as a simple utility maximizing individual with entirely rational behavior. This idea has been adopted and further developed by the behavioral economists, such as Loewenstein or Kahneman.
Unfortunately for economics as a science, the debate is increasingly distorted by many who only have a superficial understanding of scientific methodology and logic and are more driven by political and other, not always very transparent, motivations. Statements such as, ‘Austrian refute the Keynesians yet the Keynesians can’t refute them’ do not really advance any school of thought, including Austrian economics!
